Admittedly, Patrick--I have no idea what trauma-informed means before I read your piece here. So it's great that I'm learning something new today. I love your very weighted considerations on different spectrums of what being informed means--that there's a non-judgmental approach to informedness. Which is something that isn't traditionally tied to, well, "being informed." What a refreshing read. Thanks.

Thanks Thalia, yes it’s quite a shift to be in the truth and humbleness of not knowing. Humans are so complex it’s unfortunate that psychology has put us into boxes that attempt to define us when there’s so much more to all of us. And our adaptations are brilliant, not to be looked down on but to be celebrated as we gather awareness and develop agency to choose if and when we wish to use our adaptive strategies. I love knowing this was impactful for you to read!

Thanks, Jess. Glad to hear you’re resonating! I believe the trauma-informed movement could shift our trajectory as a culture- in a positive, more life honoring way.
